KENYA

EW3'S FIRST PARTNERSHIP...

Kenya is a beautiful, growing nation with unique opportunity. Here are some facts about the population of Kenya to help you understand their situation:

  • 50% of the country's population is age 17 and younger

  • The population of Kenya will double in the next 30 years

  • Currently, 43% of the population make less than $1.25 / day

  • The impoverished population will grow faster than any other group

You do not need to read between the lines...  Without injecting something into these equations, Kenya will reach a breaking point.

The something is education.

ECHO Africa and Nairobi Chapel have partnered to bring schools and education to children in the slums of Kenya.  They have also been sending hundreds of children from the slums to boarding schools to get their high school diplomas. Their success has produced many children that have the aptitude and desire to attend college.  They began sending high school graduates to university two years ago and are now diverting funds from their core mission to do so.

They know the investment is worth it.  So do we.  Flywheel Scholarships wants ECHO and Nairobi Chapel to stay on course to educate primary and high school students and join them in sending the graduates they identify to colleges and universities.

The Cost

The average cost of a University education is $2000/year.

The Partnership

ECHO Africa will match Flywheel Scholarships dollar-for-dollar!

Skin in the game.

Since these students are part of a family, the family is engaged to become part of the equation.  They have the financial responsibility for costs above the student's tuition.  This helps us be part of a valuable and personal partnership.

We are believing that Kenya will be transformed.
